GUERA

American Staffordshire Terrier · Female · Senior · 11 years

A lovely amstaff-type dog, approximately 10-11 years old, with a biscuit and brindle coat. She is active, cooperative, and domesticated. Health: spayed, vaccinated, microchipped. Location: dog hotel in Grójec. Contact for adoption: +48 501 797 018 Some dogs wait for homes for months. Others for years. Guera has been waiting at the shelter for five years. Today she is under our foundation's care and we are thrilled to say that she is a truly wonderful dog. So wonderful, in fact, that it's hard to believe no one saw her potential for so long. Guera is around 10-11 years old but doesn't look like she's ready to retire just yet. She loves walks, activities and spending time with humans. She is very cooperative, focuses well on the handler and easily adapts to new people. She is one of those flexible dogs who don't complicate life and try their best in every situation. Guera knows basic commands, loves playing ball and enjoys human interaction. She is attentive, engaged and very people-friendly. On walks she calmly passes by strangers, doesn't seek conflict or get overly excited by stimuli. At home she maintains cleanliness, stays well alone, generally: she doesn't cause problems. She travels well in the car, enjoys accompanying humans in daily activities and simply enjoys time together. Her behavior with other dogs will be tested later. The dog is undergoing treatment for a bacterial infection in her urine, taking antibiotics. She has already been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Currently she resides at a dog hotel near Grójec. We are looking for a peaceful, stable home for this super sweet girl. A home where her character, wisdom and willingness to build relationships will be appreciated. A home that doesn't need a puppy with a thousand spins per minute but a nice canine companion for good times and bad. If you have a wonderful retirement waiting for her, we invite you to contact us! w typie amstaffa, wiek ok. 10-11 Wygląd: biszkoptowa, podpalana.Charakter: aktywna, współpracująca, domowa.Zdrowie: wysterylizowana, zaszczepiona, zachipowana.Miejsce pobytu: hotel dla psów, Grójec.Kontakt w sprawie adopcji: 501 797 018 Niektóre psy czekają na dom kilka miesięcy. Inne rok. Jej zachowanie do innych psów będziemy dopiero sprawdzać.

About GUERA

What life with GUERA looks like

GUERA is a senior american staffordshire terrier dog waiting at Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) in Poland.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting GUERA, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about GUERA?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw GUERA on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt GUERA if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is GUERA already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if GUERA isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja AST (Adoptuj Staffa i Teriera) early rather than rehoming privately; they know GUERA and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
