Adopt Gustav - Scottish Fold

Scottish Fold · Male · Adult · 10 years

Born: around 2016, at the animal shelter since: 26.01.2026, male, neutered. Gustav came to us as a stray in very poor condition. Upon arrival, he had an abscess on his chin, a cold, inflamed eyes, and very bad teeth that unfortunately all had to be removed. His gums also become inflamed repeatedly. After some time, he could be vaccinated and moved to the adoption area. Gustav is a quiet tomcat who still hides a lot and needs to assess the situation. He is not incompatible with other cats but has not sought contact with them so far. He generally likes people, as long as they don't pick him up or pet him incorrectly. If this happens, he withdraws. He clearly shows his own mind. We wish for Gustav a home with outdoor access and people who are willing to provide him with a home even if there are recurring veterinary costs. Due to his long period without medical care, he is susceptible to colds, and his gums should be regularly monitored. Gustav is a this breed. This breed is unfortunately often genetically predisposed to a bone/cartilage disorder (OCD). More information about this can be obtained from our staff. What life with Gustav - Scottish Fold looks like

Gustav - Scottish Fold is a adult scottish fold cat waiting at Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn in Dingolfing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gustav - Scottish Fold, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gustav - Scottish Fold?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gustav - Scottish Fold on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gustav - Scottish Fold if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gustav - Scottish Fold already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gustav - Scottish Fold isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierschutzverein Dingolfing-Landau e.V. / Tierheim Quellenhof Passbrunn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gustav - Scottish Fold and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
