Gyuri-2

Puli · Male · Young · 2 years

Gyuri, a sweet Hungarian Puli, was abandoned on a public, fenced dog playground in Kecskemét. He has no microchip and was not reported missing. Since September 1, 2026, he has been a resident of the Menhely and has one big wish: to find his forever home soon. Winter is approaching, and he would love to sleep in a warm room instead of his kennel. We are holding our breath for Gyuri. His new life situation is stressful for him, and he is shy and reserved, which is understandable. The noise, the hustle and bustle, and the many other dogs are not easy for him. He probably didn't know that people can give him love and attention. However, he is slowly warming up to it and enjoys being pampered with affection. He has already given his heart to the people he knows, but it takes a few minutes for him to realize that strangers mean well. It's great to see that he is willing to give his heart to us if we give him some time. Otherwise, he is a friendly and nice guy who is easy to love. Gyuri still needs to learn a few things about dog etiquette, but he will quickly understand how to run with the pack. He already walks well on a leash, but it can be improved. Practice makes perfect. Those interested should inform themselves about the characteristics and needs of the wonderful Puli breed. Gyuri gets along well with his fellow dogs and is currently being integrated into a mixed pack. A confident second dog in his new home, to whom he can orient himself, would be a great help. Our adorable Gyuri longs for a safe home with understanding and loving people who can give him the security, care, love, guidance, and safety he so desperately needs. Patient people who don't make demands and allow him to come to them at his own pace. A soft bed, lots of pets, nice walks, dog-friendly activities, and his own people who will never leave him again, and Gyuri can finally enjoy a dignified, happy, and carefree life. Who will show Gyuri the bright side of life? Gyuri had barbs in his ears, which is very uncomfortable and not safe. They were removed. Gyuri can travel around mid/late October 2026 if he finds a home or a foster home.

About Gyuri-2

What life with Gyuri-2 looks like

Gyuri-2 is a young adult puli dog waiting at Animal Happyend in Animal Happyend.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Gyuri-2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Gyuri-2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Animal Happyend handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Gyuri-2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Gyuri-2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Animal Happyend will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Gyuri-2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Gyuri-2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Animal Happyend early rather than rehoming privately; they know Gyuri-2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
