Hačis

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Senior · 11 years

A 9-year-old mixed-breed Huskie named Hačis was abandoned by his "owner" who threw him out of a car near a stranger's yard in Pilaitė, Vilnius. 😠😤 People managed to record the car's appearance and even locate it in the same area, but the "owner" refused to talk. 😡 Hačis stayed with the same family, hoping to find a common language and get along, but the dog turned out to be too problematic and unsocialized to stay in the family. 😭 Help was sought from VILNIAUS PRIGLAUDAS for the possibility of providing shelter for Hačis. The shelters in the capital categorically REFUSED TO HELP or offered to put the old dog to sleep. So, the people's cry for help reached NOJAUS namai in Kaunas district. 🙏 We couldn't leave the dog that his owner abandoned. 😇 Hačis, who is gradually entering the ranks of seniors, has not caused us any problems, so we don't have to argue, but we experience many feelings inside. In a short time, the guy has already CHANGED HOMES TWICE. We hope that NOJAUS PRIGLAUDA will heal his broken heart. 🐶 P.S. We ask all CARING people for animals to find a place in their hearts for Hačis' story. Contribute to his NEW BEGINNING in Nojaus namai. 💛

🐶 P.S. Prašome visų NEABEJINGŲ žmonių beglobiams gyvūnams, atrasti savo širdyje vietos ir Hačiuko istorijai. Prisidėkite prie jo NAUJOS PRADŽIOS Nojaus namuose. 💛

About Hačis

What life with Hačis looks like

Hačis is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at NOJUS Gyvūnų gerovės namai in Lithuania.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇱🇹Adopting from Lithuania

Frequently asked

Adopting Hačis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hačis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. NOJUS Gyvūnų gerovės namai handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hačis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hačis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — NOJUS Gyvūnų gerovės namai will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hačis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hačis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with NOJUS Gyvūnų gerovės namai early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hačis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LT). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
