How do I contact the shelter about Haczi?

Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Psa Karmela handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Haczi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.

Can I adopt Haczi if I live in another country?

Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Psa Karmela will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.

Is Haczi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?

Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.

What happens if Haczi isn't the right fit?

Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Psa Karmela early rather than rehoming privately; they know Haczi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.

Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?

TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.

Hachi for adoption - Location: Warsaw Hachika (Hachi) - a faithful soul seeks a peaceful world Hachika, often referred to as Hachi, is a 6-year-old beautiful female German Shepherd with a black and tan coat and eyes that still show great sensitivity. She came to the foundation after her owner was murdered on New Year's Eve - she lost not only her home but also her entire known world. Despite this enormous change, Hachi has not lost what is most beautiful about her - her devotion to humans. She loves people, also gets along well with children. She is a dog that wants to be close, but at the same time needs a sense of security and stability. She is a female dog who keeps her home clean, does not cause health problems and can be a really wonderful companion in everyday life. She loves exercise - walks, activity and... sticks! If there is a piece of wood nearby, Hachi will definitely find it and be proud of it as the greatest treasure. But Hachika is also a dog with a sensitive heart. Too many stimuli stress her - noise, chaos, too many emotions around her can make her feel lost. That's why we are looking for a peaceful, predictable home for her, preferably with a yard, where she can freely rest and feel safe. Relationships with other animals: - Cats - she has problems with them, - Dogs - yes, with proper introduction; - People and children: yes - warm, friendly and devoted. Hachi is not looking for a random home. She is looking for her human - someone who will understand her need for peace and give her space to be herself. In return, she will get something priceless - loyalty, affection and the presence of a dog that has already lost everything... and really wants to trust someone again. The female dog is spayed, chipped, vaccinated. She currently lives in a temporary home in Warsaw. If you feel that you can give her a safe home - get in touch. Hachika is waiting... Maybe just for you. If you are interested in adoption, fill out the pre-adoption questionnaire. Haczi do adopcji - Haczi Lokalizacja: Warszawa Hachika (Haczi) – wierna dusza szuka spokojnego świataHachika, zwana częściej Haczi, to 6-letnia, piękna suczka w typie owczarka niemieckiego o czarno-podpalanym umaszczeniu i oczach, w których wciąż widać ogromną wrażliwość. Uwielbia ruch – spacery, aktywność i… patyki! Hachika czeka… Może właśnie na Ciebie. About Haczi

What life with Haczi looks like

Haczi is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Psa Karmela in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.
