Half-Moon Esquire

Male · Kitten · 4 months

Meet Half-Moon Esquire! This little fella is full of beans and runs around his pen playing with his balls and mice like his life depends on it! When he is all out of energy he loves nothing more than curling up on a warm lap and enjoying lots of head and chin rubs. Half-moon is a sweet lad who should be fine to live with school aged children who will spend lots of time playing with him. He is quite a bold kitten but should still be settled into a quiet corner of the home with all his resources close by and lots of cosy hiding places. Once settled, Half-moon will need outside access so he can run around and burn off some of his excess energy. About Half-Moon Esquire

What life with Half-Moon Esquire looks like

Half-Moon Esquire is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Half-Moon Esquire, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Half-Moon Esquire?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Half-Moon Esquire on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Half-Moon Esquire if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Half-Moon Esquire already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Half-Moon Esquire isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Half-Moon Esquire and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
