adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Happy has found a home! His story: Attention, here comes joy on four legs: our sunshine Happy! The sweet puppy was found on the roadside in Romania, where he approached our animal welfare workers openly and friendly – as if to say: "Hey, here I am! Want to be friends?" The golden male dog is approximately 1 year old, about 48 cm tall, and weighs around 18 kg – he is playful, curious, and full of life – simply Happy! A true good mood dog who infects everyone with his charm. His glossy black fur shines in the sun almost like freshly combed, and the playful pricked ears sway with every step – as if they were applauding because life is so beautiful. And Happy himself? He practically always laughs! Even during his first check-up at the vet, he – despite the shot – made everyone laugh with his energetic nature. But unfortunately, the little treasure is currently in the shelter in Bistrita – and it's as if the joy has been locked up. It's clear that the situation upsets him, and we wish from the bottom of our hearts that this wonderful little guy doesn't lose the mischievous sparkle in his eyes. Bars, noise, and too little affection are simply not for a young, lively dog. Happy loves people very much and wishes for a home where he can finally arrive – with a person or a family that shows him how much beauty life still has to offer. Life in the house is probably still new to him, but with loving guidance and perhaps with the help of a positive reinforcement dog training class, he will surely learn everything in no time. We can't say for sure if he gets along with cats. Are you ready for a big portion of joy at home? Then contact us and give your heart to Happy – he will definitely make every day for you a Happy Day 🙂 Happy can be adopted after a positive Additionally, he possesses an EU pet passport. Dear Lina, dear Tudor, thank you for your name sponsorship – with it, you have given Happy an identity and paved the way toward a new life. As of: 07.07. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 07.07.2025

About Happy

What life with Happy looks like

Happy is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Happy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Happy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Happy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Happy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Happy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Happy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Happy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
