adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Hardy has found a home! Hardy is waiting in his foster home for you. An update will follow soon! His story: Baia Mare, Romania. The little Hardy is only about 3 months old and has already experienced so much in his short life, because no one wanted him and he ended up alone and despondent on the streets. But Hardy had a stroke of luck and was saved by responsible people. So he finally ended up in a foster home in Baia Mare. There, he should recover, gain strength, and look forward to a better future. But Hardy developed a fever, and Parvo virus was discovered. The brave little one fought with all his might for survival and he made it! Hardy has recovered and is doing well. He has now developed into a cheerful and playful puppy who is open and friendly towards people and other dogs. Hardy is a particularly handsome little guy. He has soft, light brown fur with a dark facial mask and shiny, black button eyes. The little puppy is expected to grow into a beautiful, medium-sized dog. We wish for Hardy's life to change fundamentally, for the little unlucky one to become a lucky one, by being discovered by loving people here and taken into a wonderful new home. Certainly, Hardy will bring a lot of fun and life into the daily routine of his future adopters. But of course, this should not overshadow the fact that with this cute puppy, you will also take on a very responsible task, because a puppy wants to experience a lot with its people and be both physically and mentally challenged. And puberty, as an important and formative time in a young dog's life, is not far off. Certainly, positive dog training classes would be right up Hardy's alley. Regular training will strengthen his self-confidence and keep him physically and mentally challenged. Hardy is still a little puppy whose character will solidify in the coming months. It is especially important during this time that he is rehomed into a consistent and reliable home, by the side of responsible people who work with patience and consistency on his upbringing. Therefore, we are looking for loving and loving adopters who bring a lot of time and engagement, and have fun working together with a young dog. Do you want to be the person who shows the abandoned puppy the beauty of life? Then contact us. Thank you, Christine P., for giving the sweet, little Hardy its beautiful name. As of: 09.02. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Stand: 09.02.2024

About Hardy

What life with Hardy looks like

Hardy is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hardy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hardy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hardy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hardy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hardy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hardy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hardy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
