Harmony

Podenco · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Harmony ID No.: 982967 Breed: Podenco Andaluz Age: approx. 06/2023 Gender: female Shoulder height: approx. 45 cm Neutered/Spayed: Yes Location: Marbella (Spain) Inquiry form Harmony (*approx. 06/2023, approx. 45 cm) is a charming, lively young Podenca Andaluz. Like typical puppies, she loves activity and movement. She is very social with other dogs and fits in well within a pack. With humans, however, Harmony is rather shy and still needs to learn that she can trust people. Harmony arrived as a puppy at our Spanish partner animal shelter, Triple A Marbella, together with her parents and siblings after they were captured in the wild. It is assumed they had little or no contact with humans. Her family has since been successfully adopted, beautifully demonstrating their ability to adapt to life in a home. Considering how fearful she was upon arrival at the animal shelter, Harmony has already made significant progress there—though she never fully opened up. To support her development, she was placed in a foster home locally. By now, Harmony has made great strides: she plays cheerfully, curiously explores the garden, digs, sniffs around, and comes running happily when called by name. She gets along well with both dogs and cats and enjoys gentle cuddles—but only when she initiates them herself. She may never become the world’s biggest cuddlebug, but that’s perfectly alright. Harmony is house-trained, very intelligent, and continues to develop steadily. She still has some way to go, yet every day she takes new, small steps forward. We are looking for truly patient people who will let Harmony settle in without expectations—people who can gently and patiently introduce her to family life, gradually encouraging her without overwhelming her, applying steady but gentle guidance, step by step, toward a relaxed life… Harmony requires a bit of extra effort, and we cannot predict how quickly or how far she will progress—but we want to give her this chance, knowing from experience that even dogs like her can lead happy lives. She needs a home in a quiet, nature-oriented environment; she is not suited for busy city living. We seek adopters experienced in handling fearful dogs, ideally with confident fellow animals and a securely fenced garden. Harmony is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and holds an EU pet passport. For travel arrangements, she has been tested for Mediterranean diseases, dewormed, and treated for fleas. Vaccinations: Yes Mediterranean disease screening: Yes Microchip: Yes Known illnesses: None Guard dog: No Transport included Contact person: Ruth Bachhausen Tel: Email:. This is a young, adolescent dog.

About Harmony

What life with Harmony looks like

Harmony is a very small puppy/kitten podenco dog waiting at Helfende Hände e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harmony, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harmony?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Helfende Hände e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harmony on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harmony if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Helfende Hände e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harmony already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harmony isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Helfende Hände e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harmony and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
