Harper

Mixed Breed · Female

Beautiful Harper is a Husky Cross who has so much love to give with a big heart and clever mind. She's searching for a special forever home where she can truly shine and, until then, is being cared for by Jerry Green Dog Rescue in South Lincolnshire. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will reward your patience with unwavering loyalty, endless affection and plenty of cuddles, then she might just be the perfect match for you. Harper can be a little shy and reserved when first meeting people, but with a little patience, kindness, and perhaps a few tasty treats, you’ll quickly discover the affectionate, loyal girl hiding beneath. Once she trusts you, she forms incredibly strong bonds and loves nothing more than being by your side. She can be left alone in the home for a couple of hours without any problems. Harper's ideal home would be as the only pet somewhere peaceful and relatively quiet, with fewer encounters with other dogs. While she can sometimes find other dogs a little overwhelming, she is making great progress and would benefit from calm, consistent guidance to help build confidence and continue developing social skills. She could happily live with sensible children aged 14 and over who understand that every dog needs a little time and space to settle into a new environment. Harper is intelligent and active and enjoys keeping both body and mind busy. She would thrive in a home that can offer fun enrichment activities, scent work, puzzle games, or ongoing training. She loves having a purpose and learning new things, but is equally happy to settle down afterwards for a cosy evening on the sofa with her favourite people. Harper is also quite the athlete. Her adventurous spirit, impressive agility and excellent climbing abilities mean she will need a very secure garden where she can safely enjoy the outdoors. She does have a high prey drive, so small furry animals and cats are best admired from a distance. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ If Harper is the lovely lady you're looking for, please contact Jerry Green South Lincolnshire as follows: Complete a Dog Application Form here , or or Email: Please mention that you saw Harper on the Oldies Club website.

About Harper

What life with Harper looks like

Harper is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at The Oldies Club in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Oldies Club handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Oldies Club will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Oldies Club early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
