Harris

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 3 years

Harris is a fun-loving French Bulldog who enjoys a gentle stroll, making him a lovely fit for a calm and relaxed home. He is based at our Old Windsor site. He absolutely adores fuss from anyone he meets and will happily trot over to greet every person in sight, soaking up attention like a celebrity. Harris is very food motivated, which makes training easier and brings out his enthusiastic, cheeky side. He will need to work on the basics and learn the new routines of being in a home environment. With other dogs, he’s friendly and sociable, though he’s still learning his manners and calm interactions. He will benefit from ongoing socialisation and a patient owner who can guide him with gentle consistency. A private, secure garden is important for him, giving him a safe space to stretch his legs, practise training, and enjoy outdoor time comfortably. Harris is full of charm, affection, and that classic Frenchie silliness, he thrives on companionship and being part of everyday life. If you’re looking for a loyal, social companion who brings joy without needing high energy exercise, he’ll be a wonderful addition to the right home. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Harris you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest. We ask every customer to first complete our online rehoming application form, so if you have not filled in our form yet you can find the details on how to do so here;

About Harris

What life with Harris looks like

Harris is a small young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harris?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harris if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harris isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
