Tyler

English Bulldog · Male · Young · 1 year

Tyler may be able to be left for up to 4hours in the home once settled, but may need some support on his house-training as we don't have a huge amount of history from his past. He is such an easy-going lad with a wonderful temperament, and enjoys a long, sniffy walk where he can take in all the sights and smells. He settles really well in his kennel, often found curled up on his bed with a waggy tail. Tyler is hugely foody, and will do anything for a tasty snack! His new family will be so lucky. Meet Tyler, the most handsome 1.5-year old American Bulldog looking for his forever home! Tyler is a precious, gentle, loving boy. He was a little worried when he first arrived, but really has blossomed into a wonderful, goofy baby! He has so much love to give, and has such a calm, relaxed nature and will make a wonderful addition to a family home. He is able to live with other dogs, and children secondary school aged and over. He walks well on lead, and really enjoys a cuddle on the sofa with his people! Tyler is a big fan of a squeaky ball, but ignores most other toys offered to him! He is such a gentle giant, and we can't wait to see him curled up with his forever people.

About Tyler

What life with Tyler looks like

Tyler is a extra-large young adult english bulldog dog waiting at Dogs Trust Cardiff in Cardiff.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Tyler, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Tyler?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dogs Trust Cardiff handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Tyler on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Tyler if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dogs Trust Cardiff will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Tyler already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Tyler isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dogs Trust Cardiff early rather than rehoming privately; they know Tyler and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
