Harry (aka Hagrid)

Labrador Retriever · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Meet Harry (aka Hagrid), a Labrador cross. He is now 15 weeks old and a very smart cheeky little chap. He loves rough and tumble play with his friends and has an uncanny ability to collect bees from the garden when you’re not watching. He is doing well with his lead training and is starting to learn recall. He sleeps all night in his crate and will happily stay there until we come down in the morning. He gets on very well with other dogs and will stand his ground. Eats anything and everything but particularly likes to chew on any wood /sticks/ roots he can find in the garden. Before getting in touch please check our website to see if we cover your location. We can only reply to people in those areas. If you think you can provide the perfect home were looking for, please contact Joan Falvey () via email with ‘Harry’ in the subject box.

About Harry (aka Hagrid)

What life with Harry (aka Hagrid) looks like

Harry (aka Hagrid) is a puppy/kitten labrador retriever dog waiting at Labrador Lifeline Trust in Tadley.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Harry (aka Hagrid), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Harry (aka Hagrid)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Labrador Lifeline Trust handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Harry (aka Hagrid) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Harry (aka Hagrid) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Labrador Lifeline Trust will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Harry (aka Hagrid) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Harry (aka Hagrid) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Labrador Lifeline Trust early rather than rehoming privately; they know Harry (aka Hagrid) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
