Haru

Respectful Animal Protection Association Home | Our Dogs | Our Adoption Conditions | Events | Contribute Age: 7 months Location: 16 - Charente Status: Under evaluation Sex: Male Today we would like to introduce little Haru. He recently arrived at the association and is currently in a (super) foster home in Charente. Haru is a young 7-month-old dog. His start in life was not easy, and it has affected him physically. For now he shows some difficulties with movement, but this has in no way diminished his curiosity, enthusiasm, or joy in life. He is a Springer Spaniel, LOF. For the moment we are giving him time to settle in, which also lets us get to know him! Haru is a cheerful little fellow, very affectionate with people, lively... He gets along well with other dogs, loves to play, learns quickly, has a good recall, and lets himself be handled without difficulty. In short, as you have gathered, he is a little gem! With cats, he can be a bit rough, but he shows no aggression. With chickens, it's a different story: he tolerates them, but only behind a fence! In terms of training, there is some work to do, particularly on walking on the leash, but he is very willing! Inès, his foster carer, describes him as a bright, eager, and very lovable soul. He will soon be available for adoption, so stay tuned! ©2021 by L'odyssée d'Argos. Created with Wix.com

About Haru

What life with Haru looks like

Haru is an adult mixed breed dog waiting at L in France.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇫🇷Adopting from France

French refuges follow the SPA framework: adopters sign a cession contract that includes sterilization, vaccinations, microchip identification, and rabies passport. Many refuges work with rescue transport partners for cross-border placements.

Frequently asked

Adopting Haru, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Haru?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. L handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Haru on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Haru if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — L will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Haru already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Haru isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with L early rather than rehoming privately; they know Haru and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (FR). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
