adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Hedi has found her very own home! Her story: The golden puppy girl with her unique fur pattern with a large black component has been waiting in Germany for her forever home. Her shining, black button eyes and a heart-melting gaze make hearts beat faster, she will grow into an elegant lady dog. She looks boldly into the camera, as if she knows that her future is at stake. The mouse is not only super cute to look at, but is also very friendly, open to people, and kind. She enjoys every bit of affection and is very happy to be petted, even older children are no problem, but Hedi is sometimes a bit stormy due to her youth. The sweet Hedi is expected to grow to a medium size and will fit into any dog-loving family. She gets along excellently with her fellow animals from the start, although she missed her sister at first. Also, her first walks with the leash already work out surprisingly well. House training is still in progress, but Hedi is very eager to learn and open to everything. The sweet puppy girl wishes for a rural home without much hustle and with constant trusted people. At the moment, Hedi is simply a wonderful and sweet puppy child longing for love and attention. But her puberty will not be far off, and this is also a time for all dogs when loving and consistent training must be worked on. We therefore recommend Hedi to new people to work together with a positively working dog training class. Patient and loving training as well as regular contact with fellow animals and many positive experiences with their people will promote her development and strengthen the bond to their trusted people. Originally, Hedi came from Cluj, Romania. Together with her sister Trinity, she was rescued from the street and taken in by a private Romanian foster home. Hedi can be microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas for an adoption fee of 500 Euros and will of course bring her EU pet passport with her after a positive home check. Do you perhaps have a warm dog bed and a place in your heart for our wonderful Hedi? Then contact us! Many thanks Petra W.! You gave Hedi her pretty name. As of: 26.05.

Vielen Dank Petra W.! Du hast Hedi ihren hübschen Namen geschenkt. Stand: 26.05.2024

About Hedi

What life with Hedi looks like

Hedi is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hedi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hedi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hedi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hedi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hedi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hedi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hedi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
