Heidi

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 6 months

Heidi is vaccinated, chipped, dewormed, de-fleaed, examined by a veterinarian and has an EU passport. Here I am, Heidi, a mixed breed female born around 04/2026, and I will grow into a medium to larger sized dog. They say I am an incredibly cheerful and friendly representative of my kind. I get along very well with the dogs in my group, whether they are young or old, and I have no problems with responsible children. However, I can initially be shy and unsure in some unfamiliar situations, but at the same time, I am also curious. I am a very people-oriented and friendly dog lady who absolutely loves the affection of her two-legged friends. I am a lively and cheerful dog girl in everyday life, but I can also be calm when I have had enough exercise. Nevertheless, my owners should know that I always have a lot of energy and want to experience a lot. I love playing with my humans and I also like to romp around with my dog buddies. Cuddling is also one of my favorite activities. For the future, I wish for people who will treat me with respect and kindness. Someone who will not leave my side in good times and bad, just as I would do for them. On walks, I am a curious and cheerful companion. At home, I still have to learn a few things, but I have no problems with that and together we will learn everything with a lot of joy and fun. I would fit in well in a great one- or two-person household, but a loving family with children would also be a good home for me. I very much hope that I will find loving people with whom I can spend the rest of my life. About Heidi

What life with Heidi looks like

Heidi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Herzsprung.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Heidi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Heidi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Herzsprung handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Heidi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Heidi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Herzsprung will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Heidi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Heidi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Herzsprung early rather than rehoming privately; they know Heidi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
