Helen and Annet

Mixed Breed Β· Female Β· Young Β· 1 year

Helen and Annet are looking for a home together. These Scilly cats are a little shy to begin with. It takes them time to warm up to their humans, so don’t take offense if they don’t come to say Hi straight away. These girls require you to put in some effort, by providing them with lots of nice hidey places, cardboard boxes, toys and time. Once provided with this, they can start to feel like themselves again and will pay you back in kind with gentle love. These girls had a rough start in life and deserve a second chance at happiness. Could you give them a happy life? They would be best in an adult only home and to be the only pets in the home. We feel they will bring their owner much joy once settled. They will need outdoor access in time, so a home away from main/busy roads would be ideal. If you could give these girls the home they desperately crave, please get in touch!

About Helen and Annet

What life with Helen and Annet looks like

Helen and Annet is a young adult mixed breed cat waiting at The Sheffield Cats Shelter in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Helen and Annet, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Helen and Annet?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Sheffield Cats Shelter handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Helen and Annet on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Helen and Annet if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” The Sheffield Cats Shelter will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Helen and Annet already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Helen and Annet isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Sheffield Cats Shelter early rather than rehoming privately; they know Helen and Annet and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
