👉 BackHella is waiting at the animal shelter in Hungary - 🐾 Hella – curious young female dog looking for her forever home 🐾Hella was born in January 2025 and now waits together with her sister Hetty at the animal shelter for people who will finally give her a real home. She is about 42 cm tall and weighs around 12 kg - a delicate, young female dog full of joy for life and curiosity. Like her sisters, Hella comes from an unplanned litter that could not stay. However, despite this history, she shows herself as friendly, open, and compatible with other dogs. Currently, she lives together with her sister Hetty, after the three young female dogs were initially overwhelmed during feeding in the run and had to be separated. In this context, Hella sometimes shows a bit more determination when it comes to food, which is not unusual for young dogs in her situation. At first, Hella is somewhat reserved towards humans. But once she has built up trust, she reveals her gentle, affectionate side and seeks closeness. It's particularly beautiful to see how much she blossoms when she gets to feel freedom: During free run, she visibly enjoys the movement and runs happily with her sister through the area - as if for a moment she leaves everything stressful behind. She already knows running on a leash in rudimentary form, but the one-on-one dog training must naturally be further developed. With patience, calmness, and loving companionship, she will surely make quick progress here. Hella loves being outdoors, collecting new impressions, and getting to know the world step by step. Whether as a single dog or alongside a confident second dog - Hella is ready for her new chapter in life. Before travel arrangements, she receives a Caniv-4D test. Hella is looking for people who will give her time to settle in and show her that the world is not only big but also good - with a safe place by her side. We are happy to place her with people who enjoy being on the go, as Hella will love going for walks, running, and actively exploring the world. We are happy to answer your questions.

About Hella B

What life with Hella B looks like

Hella B is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hella B, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hella B?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hella B on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hella B if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hella B already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hella B isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hella B and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
