Hera & Jerry

Mixed Breed Cat · Unknown · Kitten · 4 months

Hera and Jerry are two young kittens looking for a loving home. They are being adopted together. Hera and Jerry are shy kittens that initially need some time to build trust with their humans. With patience and understanding, they develop into curious and lively companions. They are very playful, enjoy exploring their surroundings, and discover everything new with great interest. We are looking for quiet and patient people for their new home who will give them the time they need to settle in at their own pace. Due to their reserved nature, Hera and Jerry will not be adopted by children. After the adjustment period, they absolutely need free access through a cat flap. The new home should be in a rural area, away from main roads or railways. Who would like to give these two young furry friends a safe, understanding, and loving home for life? If you are interested in the kittens, please fill out the application form. Someone from the cat area will then contact you and be happy to answer any questions/clarify any uncertainties. About Hera & Jerry

What life with Hera & Jerry looks like

Hera & Jerry is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Berner Tierzentrum in Switzerland.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hera & Jerry, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hera & Jerry?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Berner Tierzentrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hera & Jerry on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hera & Jerry if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Berner Tierzentrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hera & Jerry already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hera & Jerry isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Berner Tierzentrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hera & Jerry and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
