Adopt Mirabella

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Young · 2 years

Mirabella came to us at the animal shelter because her owners moved abroad and could not take the cat with them. At our shelter, the beautiful cat lady tends to be insecure and indecisive. Her mood can quickly change from "pet me and cuddle with me" to "please leave me alone." Therefore, Mirabella is looking for people who meet her with patience and understanding. Due to an accident in 2024, in which she fell from the balcony, one of her legs had to be amputated. However, Mirabella has quickly gotten used to it and copes very well with it. For her new home, Mirabella wishes a quiet household without children, dogs, other cats, or other animals, so that she can be the sole princess and receive the attention she deserves. So far, Mirabella has lived as an apartment cat. After an appropriate acclimatization period (usually about three weeks), she would like to have the opportunity in the future to enjoy free roaming through a cat flap in a rural area. About Mirabella

What life with Mirabella looks like

Mirabella is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierheim an der Ron.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Mirabella, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Mirabella?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim an der Ron handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Mirabella on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Mirabella if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim an der Ron will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Mirabella already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Mirabella isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim an der Ron early rather than rehoming privately; they know Mirabella and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
