Hermine und Yoshi

Mixed Breed · Female

Age: Estimated 2-3 years old Gender: Male / neutered Compatibility with others: Together, as second pets Husbandry: Apartment with balcony Health: Vaccinated (cold/flu), microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FelV +350€ Yoshi, the pretty Persian cat, came to us at the end of last year and was not in a good condition. His totally matted fur suggested he had been out in the wild for a while, which is not ideal for Persians. However, he has recovered well and now has beautiful fur. With a bit of patience and care, he can be groomed, which is very important for his fur. Yoshi is a gentle and quiet tomcat, typical of a Persian. But playing with a fishing rod is something he enjoys and demands. Shortly after, another Persian with a similar story came from the same area, leading us to suspect a breeder who might be dissolving his "breeding operation." The two did not get along, and Yoshi withdrew due to Woolie's dominant behavior. Woolie had to leave, and Hermine came in. The delicate cat came from a stable, but she was more shy and gentle than grumpy and scared, which is why we didn't want to return her. Initially, she had some trouble adjusting, and people, especially strangers, are still a bit scary to her, but she can be brushed. We believe she will open up to the right people with the right amount of time, patience, and understanding. The foster home can handle her, but they are still not cuddly cats. The two get along well and already chase each other through the apartment, so they should be rehomed together. However, they should not be fed together because Hermine would also eat Yoshi's food without batting an eye. We are looking for a quiet home with a secure balcony for the two together (applications for Yoshi alone will not be considered). The home should be child and dog-free but have people who have some time, are not out all day, and have some experience with reserved cats, giving them the time they need to build trust. Who knows what they have experienced. This animal is not suitable for homes with children.

About Hermine und Yoshi

What life with Hermine und Yoshi looks like

Hermine und Yoshi is a adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund Köln in Köln.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hermine und Yoshi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hermine und Yoshi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund Köln handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hermine und Yoshi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hermine und Yoshi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund Köln will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hermine und Yoshi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hermine und Yoshi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund Köln early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hermine und Yoshi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
