Hermione

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 4 months

I first appeared at one of the feeding stations as a tiny, semi-feral kitten. Everything about people felt unfamiliar, and I wasn't sure whether I could trust anyone. Before I was old enough to be spayed, I became pregnant. I was still just a kitten myself, and sadly I didn't know how to care for my babies. Losing them was the hardest start to life I could have had. Soon afterwards, I was spayed, and little by little, my life began to change. The people caring for me never gave up, and over the next three years they patiently earned my trust. What started with keeping my distance slowly turned into enjoying gentle strokes, asking for attention, and discovering that people could be kind. I'm still a little shy when I meet new people or find myself somewhere unfamiliar, but once I feel safe, my affectionate side quickly shines through. I love company and will happily let you know when I'm ready for a cuddle. When the people who had cared for me for so many years moved away, they couldn't bear to leave me behind. By then, I wasn't just another street cat — I had become part of their family. Now it's time for my next chapter. I'll be ready to travel from August 2026, and I'm hoping to find a patient, loving home where I can continue to grow in confidence and spend the rest of my life surrounded by the love I've always deserved. About Hermione

What life with Hermione looks like

Hermione is a very small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Help A Stray Cat in Turkey.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇹🇷Adopting from Turkey

The shelter typically completes the animal's vaccinations, microchipping, and pet passport before adoption. Specific fees and process details vary by shelter and country — confirm directly via the contact details in the sidebar.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hermione, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hermione?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Help A Stray Cat handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hermione on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hermione if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Help A Stray Cat will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hermione already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hermione isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Help A Stray Cat early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hermione and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
