Holly

Cane Corso · Female · Puppy · 4 months

Holly is a Cane Corso puppy who enjoys spending time with people. She is based at Battersea Old Windsor. As you’d expect from her breed, she’s confident, inquisitive and already showing the strength and presence Cane Corso's are known for. She will grow into a large, powerful dog, so she’s looking for a home that genuinely understands what that commitment involves. Holly is looking for new owners that have some knowledge of the Cane Corso breed, or similar large breeds. Like all puppies, Holly will need ongoing training, clear boundaries and plenty of positive socialisation to help her thrive. Holly's favourite things to do are playing with toys, being around people and learning new things, like sit and down. She has spent some time in a foster home where she has had lots of fun learning a home routine, beginning to pick up the basics of housetraining and learning to walk on lead. She is a playful girl and is still learning that hands are not appropriate toys but she's picking this up fast. Holly will need her own private and secure garden, she can utilise this area for house training, burning off energy, ongoing required training and having fun play time. She is starting to go on short walks on lead and is still gaining confidence here - she likes to go at her pace and take the world in at the moment. If you have already completed our online rehoming form and would like to know more about Holly you can e-mail our rehoming team on to register your interest.

About Holly

What life with Holly looks like

Holly is a large puppy/kitten cane corso dog waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Holly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Holly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Holly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Holly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Holly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Holly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Holly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
