Holly T

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Holly - waiting at the animal shelter in Hungary - Holly – from survival struggle to happiness ❤️ Holly's life began far from carefree. In January she was found completely alone in a forest near Battonya. She was severely underweight, infested with worms and so weak that nobody knew if she would make it through the first two weeks. Every day was a small fight for survival. Fortunately there was an engaged animal rights activist who didn't just walk by her. She took Holly home, immediately brought her to the vet and cared for her with endless love, patience and dedication. Thanks to this care Holly got to experience that life can also have beautiful sides. Step by step she regained her strength and developed into a cheerful, lively little dog. Today Holly is an incredibly loving, people-oriented and lively young dog. She loves being around her humans, enjoys every caress and generously shares her affection. Cuddling is one of her absolute favorite activities, and she's happy about every shared minute with the people who pay attention to her. At the shelter Holly shared a small kennel with Hella and another female dog. Despite the cramped conditions she has retained her friendly, gentle and loving nature. She gets along very well with other dogs, especially liking male dogs. Holly doesn't bother cats. Should there already be a cat in the new home we will gladly conduct a compatibility test upon request. Holly was born on 12/03/2025. The Caniv-4D test will be conducted soon. Holly has left pain, hunger and neglect behind. Now all she needs is the most important thing: a family that loves her, gives her security and shows her that she never again has to fight for her life or her future. She wants to discover the world with her humans, experience adventures and fall asleep happily and safely in the evening. Whoever gives Holly a home will gain a loyal, loving companion who will enrich every day with her cheerful nature. If you would like to meet Holly or have questions about her we are very happy to receive your message.

About Holly T

What life with Holly T looks like

Holly T is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. in Nordwalde.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Holly T, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Holly T?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Holly T on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Holly T if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Holly T already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Holly T isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundepfoten Steinfurt e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Holly T and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
