Please note the ‘Contact for Availability’ function is currently not working. Please email the Rescue direct () if you are enquiring about an animal and include the animal’s name ** Honey arrived into our care after being found as a stray with a litter of newborn kittens. She did a wonderful job looking after her babies, and we are delighted that all her little ones have now found their forever homes. It is finally Honey’s turn to be someone’s special girl! Honey is a sweet and affectionate girl who would make a lovely family cat. She has a playful, cheeky nature and we are sure she will bring plenty of love, fun and mischief to her new home! Honey will need outdoor access once settled into her new home. Now all Honey needs is a family to call her own, somewhere she can settle in, feel safe and enjoy all the love and attention she deserves. 1. Cat adoption questionnaire – We will ask you to complete our questionnaire so we can learn more about your home, lifestyle and the environment you can offer Honey. 2. Home suitability checks – We will assess your application to ensure your home is suitable for Honey and her needs. We may ask for photographs or videos where needed. 3. Adoption arrangements – Once your application has been reviewed and approved, we will arrange an appointment for you to meet Honey. 4. Ready for her forever home – If everyone is happy, we will discuss the next steps to get Honey settled into her new home. Our cat adoption fee is £150, which includes a vet health check, flea and worm treatment, full vaccinations, microchipping and spaying. Please note that all cats in the household must be neutered, and permission to keep a cat must be provided if you are renting. About Honey

What life with Honey looks like

Honey is a young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Honey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Pennine Pen Animal Rescue CIO early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
