Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 )

Mixed Breed Cat · Male · Young · 1 year

Miller, Born approximately April 2025 and Summer, born approximately January 2025 Miller and Summer are currently sharing a pen but can be homed separately or together They are 2 of 11 young and adult cats who were abandoned together in a small crate on a farm in Wheston in the Peak District. The owner arrived at home to find a crate full of cats in her yard towards the end of April and immediately got the crate into her vehicle and brought them to us. They were all on top of each other in the cramped space and covered in their own excrement. Luckily we had one double pen available so they were settled there for the night and the following day they were sorted into the males and females, other cats being shuffled to make our larger pens available so we could split them into smaller groups. 2 of the 4 females were also well into pregnancy (one has had 2 kittens and one had 3, so the grand total from that one emergency admission was 16 precious lives). All of the gang are quite nervous and several, although young, had gum and dental disease to a greater or lesser extent. Fin had quite severe dental disease and gingivitis and tested positive for calicivirus so we expect all the gang to have been exposed to this. Miller's teeth are fine but he has very slight gingivitis so this will need monitoring and feeding him a good quality dry diet will help to stop any problems developing . Summer gums and teeth are fine , she just has some very slight tartar which again a good quality dry diet will help stop further problems developing . Both of them are now neutered, vaccinated and microchipped We are currently feeding them on Hills Dental dry which they enjoy. Miller is a lot more outgoing than Summer and really wants to play with people once he knows them. Summer is the most nervous of all the gang, hiding away a lot of the time, she will need more time and patience in a new home to adjust and may always be a nervous girl. After their poor starts in life this little gang of cats are ready to find the love and care which has been missing from their lives until now.

About Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 )

What life with Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) looks like

Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) is a small young adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Windyway Animal Rescue in Macclesfield.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 )?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Windyway Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Windyway Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Windyway Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miller and Summer ( Wheston 9 and 6 ) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
