Honey

Mixed Breed Cat · Female · Kitten · 8 months

My life so far hasn't exactly gone the way one would wish. I was simply left behind by my people. Luckily, a nice lady found me and brought me to the cat shelter of the Hallein Animal Shelter. I'm estimated to be about 8 months old and still quite fresh here. That's why I'm a little scared at the moment – no wonder, everything is new and a bit exciting. But I've already noticed that there are many loving hands here, and I've already been petted. Now I'll first be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and checked over – but the dear syringe holders here say that I'm making quite a good impression. For my future home, I wish for loving people who will give me time to settle in. Additionally, a secure outdoor run would be fantastic – I would like to explore the world outside, after all. And honestly: a cat friend or cat buddy to play with, snuggle with, and make nonsense with would be the best thing ever. Please contact Isabella if you'd like to meet me or visit me on Fridays at the cat shelter. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Honey

What life with Honey looks like

Honey is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierheim Hallein in Hallein.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇦🇹Adopting from Austria

Austrian shelters follow the federal Tierschutzgesetz framework: adopters sign a Schutzvertrag (protection contract) committing to the animal's welfare. Spay/neuter, microchip, and vaccinations are included; fees typically range €150–€350.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Hallein handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Hallein will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Hallein early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
