Honey

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Honey is now living in a foster home in Germany and has made great progress there. Now she is missing the most important thing: her own family. People who show her the world with love and calmness and let her arrive at her own pace. A small, securely fenced garden would be a big wish for Honey, because there she can explore her surroundings relaxed and gain more and more confidence. Honey is an incredibly loving, gentle and sensitive dog. At first, she prefers to observe new situations from a safe distance. Once she has settled in and gained trust, she shows her wonderful nature: affectionate, clingy and closely attached to her human. She learns incredibly quickly and develops further every day. She especially likes to be outdoors. Extensive sniffing, discovering new paths and playing with other dogs are among her absolute favorite activities. She already walks nicely on a leash and orients herself more and more to her human. It's just fun to watch her as she becomes a little more courageous every day. Honey gets along very well with other dogs and already knows cats. She trusts women a bit faster than men at first. However, with a calm, patient approach, she thaws more and more and shows how much love is in her. Honey has already experienced being alone in her foster home. However, she prefers to spend her time with her humans and enjoys every shared cuddle hour. Honey is a rather quiet dog who sleeps a lot and appreciates a cozy retreat. Especially cute: She has declared the child's cuddle cave of her foster family as her favorite place - there she feels completely comfortable and secure. For Honey, we wish a loving home with people who enjoy experiencing the small and big adventures of everyday life with her. People who give her time to settle in and are just as happy about every progress as she is herself. Honey is not looking for a perfect family - she is looking for people with a heart. People who recognize what a wonderful dog is in her. Whoever gives Honey this chance will win a loyal, gentle and incredibly lovable companion who will conquer her human's heart a little more every day.

DE·Show original

About Honey

What life with Honey looks like

Honey is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Honey, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Honey?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Honey on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Honey if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Honey already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Honey isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Honey and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
