Hope

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy

Hope, a mixed-breed dog, is waiting for her big break. Hope is one of eight siblings who were abandoned by our Bulgarian animal welfare colleagues and left to fend for themselves in the woods. However, her current place in the shelter is only a temporary stop. Hope is looking for a home or foster placement. Hope is a happy, curious, and open-minded dog. She wants to discover the world, is friendly and affectionate, and gets along well with people and other dogs. Now she just needs a suitable home where she can settle in and grow into a great companion. Her future owners should enjoy showing a puppy the world and patiently guiding him through the first exciting time. Hope will need loving support and, of course, the necessary patience. Because puppies don't always get everything right immediately. Sometimes something works out wonderfully and the next day everything seems forgotten again. That's just part of it and should be taken with humor and composure. Hope wants to go through life with her people, be age-appropriately occupied, learn new things, and of course collect lots of pets and cuddle hours. Who wants to show Hope how beautiful a home can be? Adopting a shelter dog always means taking on a special responsibility and can also become a challenge. The dogs bring a backpack with past experiences or unlearned situations and need time to settle into their new life. If you are seriously interested in adopting Hope, please contact the responsible SALVA Hundehilfe placement agent. We would also be very happy to provide a foster placement. Here is Hope's video.

About Hope

What life with Hope looks like

Hope is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hope, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hope?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hope on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hope if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hope already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hope isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SALVA Hundehilfe e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hope and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
