Hopper

Female · Kitten · 2 months

This beautiful little lady is Hopper! Hopper is a whirlwind of energy who despite only having 3 legs, moves around her pen with ease and can usually be found chasing her ping pong ball around the pen or wrestling with her knitted mice. She is a snuggle bug who loves a fuss and will climb straight onto a warm lap for lots of strokes and chin rubs. Hopper is a bold girl who will thrive in an environment with any age child who will spend lots of time playing with her and giving her the love she craves. She should be fine to settle into a quiet corner with all her resources close by and plenty of cosy hiding places. Due to Hopper only having 3 legs; she would benefit from having a low fronted tray permanently kept down in a quiet and private area. Once settled, Hopper will need outside access to stretch her legs and run off some of her excess energy. About Hopper

What life with Hopper looks like

Hopper is a medium-sized puppy/kitten cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hopper, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hopper?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hopper on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hopper if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hopper already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hopper isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hopper and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
