Hoshi

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

Meet Hoshi ❤️ Hoshi was adopted from us as a kitten 12 years ago but has become very stressed by the toddler in the home and now there is a new baby on the way. The stress results in her getting a recurring ulcer on her lip due to mycoplasma infection – a course of antibiotics helps hugely but..she’s been for a holiday at a friend’s lovely, quiet house for a few weeks and she’s absolutely flourished. The ulcer is pretty much gone for the first time in ages! So she needs another calm haven with no other pets and no children: just peace and serenity all the way from now on 🙂 She’s a lively social butterfly and very vocal with her little chirps. She loves roaming outside but has tolerated being indoors at my friend’s house very well. She’s usually lively in the morning and likes to snuggle up after dinner on a lap. She loves a head scratch, the tummy not so much! She always runs to the door to say hello when you come home, and she makes fast friends with every visitor. She is very sensitive to noises and will jump at a lot of sounds, until she is sure she understands what they are. She’s learned to tolerate being brushed as she gets older, so long as you don’t dare do her tummy or legs. She has been on a hypoallergenic dry diet for a long time as we tried to conquer her ulcer, but we would hope that in time, she’ll be relaxed enough in a new setting to not need it. She doesn’t mind either way so long as she gets fed!! Neutered, chipped with 5 weeks free insurance. BWCR would provide support at Fernlea vets if the ulcer recurs. Hoshi is still with her owner to reduce stress. Please mail us at with your ADDRESS and CONTACT NUMBER for our pretty floof 🙂

About Hoshi

What life with Hoshi looks like

Hoshi is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hoshi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hoshi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hoshi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hoshi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hoshi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hoshi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hoshi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
