Miss Marley

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 12 years

Retirement home wanted for Miss Marley ❤️ Marley is a gentle, 14 yr old, female cat looking for a cozy retirement home. Incredibly resilient and adaptable, she settles into new environments very rapidly and spends most of her day enjoying peaceful naps. She loves company, happily sitting next to you during the day and sleeping right at your feet at night—though she will affectionately make her voice heard in the morning if she thinks you have slept in! As a mature lady, she cannot jump very high (only up to a typical chair height), and your furniture is safe from scratching. Marley has hyperthyroidism and early renal failure so needs daily Thyronorm and a renal diet – BWCR will cover the cost of the meds and blood tests at Fernlea vets and go halves with you on the food 🙂 She would quite like a garden away from busy roads to explore and would be good with gentle older children who would respect her boundaries as she’s not crazy about picked up. Neutered, chipped, vaccinated with 5 weeks free insurance. Please mail us at for our gorgeous little void.

About Miss Marley

What life with Miss Marley looks like

Miss Marley is a senior mixed breed cat waiting at Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue in United Kingdom.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Miss Marley, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Miss Marley?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Miss Marley on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Miss Marley if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Miss Marley already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Miss Marley isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Miss Marley and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
