Hudson

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 5 years

Hudson is an impressive male dog with a special presence. But behind his outward appearance lies a sensitive dog who currently carries a lot of insecurity within. In the shelter, he often retreats to his hut and prefers to observe the happenings from a distance. It is now assumed that Hudson only sees with limited vision and has a reduced field of vision. This also explains why he often reacts insecurely when people approach him. However, if he can better recognize his counterpart, he calms down and even takes treats out of his hand cautiously. With this knowledge, his behavior can be much better understood, yet it should not be underestimated, as Hudson "flips" occasionally and requires the appropriate respect. Hudson is approximately 5 years old and measures around 55 to 60 cm shoulder height. He is thus in a good age, but likely brings little experience with life outside the shelter. He allows touch, but still hesitantly and only when he feels safe. Trust must grow with him in small steps. For Hudson, we wish for a quiet rural home with experienced and patient people who do not place any expectations on him and give him the time he needs. A structured daily routine with clear routines, few changing stimuli, and trusted people will help him gain security. Children and small animals should not live in the household. A securely fenced garden would be very important for Hudson, so he can move freely and at his own pace. A confident single dog can give him orientation, but is not a prerequisite. Visually, Hudson is a real looker with his special black-and-white fur pattern and his curly tail. We suspect based on his appearance that he is a mixed breed (likely a Listel-mix, possibly AmStaff or Pit Bull). Thus, his entry into Germany is denied, and he is searching for very experienced people in a country or canton of Switzerland where he is welcome. Hudson needs people who accept him as he is and show him that he can rely on them. Whoever gives him this chance will be rewarded with a loyal and special companion. Hudson travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport. Stand: 23.04.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Vielen Dank an Kristin! Vielen Dank Martina K.! Du unterstützt Hudson mit einer monatlichen Patenschaft! Stand: 23.04.2026

About Hudson

What life with Hudson looks like

Hudson is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hudson, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hudson?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hudson on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hudson if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hudson already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hudson isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hudson and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
