Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this animal now! Adoption requirements Adoption process Ask about this dog now! Chari lived so far near Bistritas in a village. One day she was hit by a car and run over. Fortunately, Chari had an angel that day and survived. However, her left front leg was so severely injured that it had to be amputated. Chari does not bear her name by chance. It means grace or charm, and both could Chari preserve despite her serious accident. She has gotten used to her life as a sweet three-legged dog and enchanted the local helpers with her lovable character. The beautiful female dog is about 4 years old and already had puppies. She has a shoulder height of about 50-55 cm and weighs between 20-25 kg. It is especially important for three-legged dogs to pay attention to their weight so that they remain agile and fit, as they need more balance. In contact with people, Chari is open, affectionate and friendly. She seeks our company and you can tell how much she enjoys every little attention. Probably Chari has never lived in a household and still needs to learn the rules necessary for peaceful and happy coexistence. Things like housebreaking, leash training and riding in a car will be new territory for her. Therefore, we wish people who take Chari into their lives with lots of love and empathy. Chari wishes a family that is not discouraged by her small disability and takes the pretty fur nose as she is. Friendly, cheerful and unique. Chari can be adopted after a positive. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and has a valid EU pet passport. We can also gladly advise on a possible prosthesis. Has Chari captured your heart? If Charis soulmates are still waiting a bit, we would also be very happy about a foster home. A big thank you goes especially to you, dear Michaela S.! Thanks to you, Chari not only received a beautiful name, but also the chance for a happy dog life. Date: 11.05.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 11.05.2026

About Chari

What life with Chari looks like

Chari is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Chari, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Chari?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Chari on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Chari if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Chari already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Chari isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Chari and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
