Hulk

Unknown · Senior · 13 years

Hulk has settled in well and enjoys the peace and attention in the retired cat's home. We are very happy for the old warrior that he has almost every day his funny "5-minute attacks" where he runs wild through the apartment and makes all sorts of mischief. His foster mother therefore renamed him LOKI, God of Mischief and Deception! Hulk really likes to play and extensively, hardly believable at his age, health history and existing findings. The plush cat has a chronic kidney disease and also developed anemia, which requires diet food, medication administration and regular blood and urine checks at the veterinarian. Of course, Hulk receives everything he needs so that he remains happy and lively. Since this is associated with ongoing costs, we would be very pleased if Hulk could find loving sponsors who support him. Last summer, Hulk received a foster offer and was able to leave L.I.D.A. behind. It quickly became clear that the foster home was overwhelmed with the care of Hulk's neck wound and so our senior traveled a short distance to a medically skilled foster home. While he settled in there, Hulk caught a bad virus and had to be treated for a long time. His foster mother took great care of him lovingly during the whole time and Hulk showed unbroken will to live and made the therapy with the vet visits bravely. Now Hulk is recovered again and has, as it befits a stately cat, gained weight properly. So Hulk's search for a final place could start again. And in fact, a former adopter who followed Hulk's development from the beginning reported back and offers him a permanent foster placement for life in her senior cat's home. This is the kind of home we had wished for Hulk, with full attention

About Hulk

What life with Hulk looks like

Hulk is a large senior cat waiting at PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. in Germany.

Senior cats are the gentlest house guests: predictable, mostly silent, and grateful for a sunny windowsill. Older cats often have minor dental or kidney issues — keep an eye on water intake and weight. Many sleep eighteen hours a day and want no part of any drama.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hulk, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hulk?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hulk on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hulk if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hulk already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hulk isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with PfotenFreunde Sardinien e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hulk and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
