Has already lived in a house: ( ) yes (x) no. Additional information: This poor, beautiful female dog was discovered in the village of Mezőtárkány in December 2020. A chain was around her waist and had grown into her belly. She must have lived with this burden for weeks, months or even years. Somehow she seems to have managed to free herself and was found. The animal welfare workers of the organization Füzesabonyi Állatvédő Alapítvány searched and found her and handed her over to the care of the NOAH animal shelter Hungary. She was immediately freed from the chain in an emergency operation, which had embedded itself in her flesh and caused suppurating, inflamed wounds. We can't even imagine how she could endure these constant, terrible pains. In the meantime, her wounds have healed and also the heartworm infection detected upon her arrival has been cured. Hullahopp is an approximately 2015 born, active, playful and very agile mixed-breed female dog. Was all that in her life? Is the animal shelter the end for her? For three years and three months since her rescue, she has been waiting for a new life, for her people forever! She has such a desire to finally move more and discover more. If she can leave the kennel for 20 minutes once a week, she tries to absorb everything and release her energy. Her dog walkers can hardly keep up with her. We really wish that she may spend her second half of life as a happy family member. She gets along well with other dogs and is very loving. She is not shy and enjoys being petted. However, she has never experienced forming a bond, having her own cuddle spot and much more. She needs time and understanding to gradually learn about the new life... if she even gets the chance... Hullahopp is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Hullahopp shortly after her arrival in 2020:

About Hullahopp

What life with Hullahopp looks like

Hullahopp is a senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noah Tierheim Ungarn in Germany.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hullahopp, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hullahopp?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noah Tierheim Ungarn handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hullahopp on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hullahopp if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noah Tierheim Ungarn will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hullahopp already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hullahopp isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noah Tierheim Ungarn early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hullahopp and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
