adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Humla has found her forever home! Her story: Humla – affectionately named Humml – is a particularly charming, small female dog. With her smooth, black fur with brown and white markings, her sweet standing ears, and her large, brown eyes, she is a true heartthrob. But she doesn’t just captivate through her enchanting appearance; she also has a super loving personality. The small female dog moved into a loving foster family in mid-December and has shown herself to be super loving, very friendly, and cuddly towards everyone from the start. She is very open-minded and loves cuddles, is also very clingy, and always seeks the company of her trusted people. The little female dog gets along very well with other dogs too, even the first-time dogs living in the household are easily accepted by her, she is not pushy or unfriendly. Humla is a very uncomplicated female dog, sleeps through the night, and is also house-trained. She walks super well on a leash, loves to ride in the car, and is open to everything. For Humla, we wish loving people who are ready to not only welcome this wonderful soul into their lives but also into their hearts and share many beautiful moments and memories with her. She looks forward to running around in fields and letting the wind blow through her fur. Originally, the little Humla came from Romania, Baia Mare. No one wanted her there, and so the little female dog ended up in the public shelter, where she fortunately didn’t have to stay for long. Humla is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and has an EU pet passport. Who wants to run a race with the little Humla? A heartfelt thank you goes to Nele S., who gave Humla her name and thus her own identity. As of: 17.12.

Stand: 17.12.2025

About Humla

What life with Humla looks like

Humla is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Humla, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Humla?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Humla on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Humla if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Humla already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Humla isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Humla and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
