Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause

Labrador Retriever · Male · Senior · 9 years

Asko breed: Labrador-Eurasier-Mix at the animal shelter since: 23.08.2025 Asko has been with us at the animal shelter for 264 days. Become a godparent My godparents are: male dog Asko is looking for a home Asko is really a real unlucky guy. In 2021 we took the then 4-year-old male dogs in for the first time. His previous owner was often on the road for work and no longer had time for the young lively male dogs. After three months at the animal shelter, we found a nice home for Asko where they had plenty of time for him and he didn't have to be alone. For three and a half years, Askos world was fine and he was spoiled rotten. He maintained his rituals and even once reported a gas alarm in the house before the devices went off. Until his owner suffered a severe stroke one unfortunate day. Although she was in an exceptional situation, she told the helpers who were called that Asko should come to our animal shelter. And so we picked up Asko again. The big male dog clearly grieved, whined the whole time and wouldn't eat anything. Only when we integrated him into a dog group could he slowly look forward again. Asko is a big male dog who certainly makes an impression. In his old home, he took it upon himself to guard the property and protect his owners from all evils. You can describe Asko as alert. When visitors come to the animal shelter, he barks with a deep voice and reports the "intruder". However, if the dog recognizes the male dog, the tone changes and he starts wagging his tail politely. At our place, he has never behaved inappropriately towards people at any time. In his previous home, Asko has gained a real fat belly and now needs to lose a little weight. Asko is very happy about walks and also likes to take a short sprint. Then he becomes really silly. Asko gets along with other dogs of any sex. Nevertheless, it is conceivable that once Asko has become attached to "his" people, he may not tolerate any new dogs. In this context, it can also be mentioned that the male dog already knows how to wear a muzzle. The dear male dog is truly a loyal and faithful soul. We would like Asko to find a loving home again and never have to be so sad at the animal shelter again. If you are interested in Asko, we look forward to your inquiry. Other large dogs looking for a home Dog Ulla is looking for a home Ulla is a very large, good-natured and friendly female dog with childlike charm. She loves people, seeks closeness and wants to finally arrive. As a herding dog mix, she is alert, but not a barker. A wonderful dog for a family with a house and yard. Dog Kupidon is looking for a home The male dog loves being outdoors. Is there someone who can show Kupidon the beautiful sides of life and bring them close? This big guy has so much to catch up on. Dog Babuszka is looking for a home Babuszka is compatible with her fellow animals and lives in a small group with us. Nevertheless, she certainly wouldn't mind sometimes taking the lead and having people all to herself. With Babuszka you would have a vigorous dog companion who would certainly enjoy strolling through fields and meadows with you as well as staying in the warm room with you on rainy weather. Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause The dear male dog is truly a loyal and faithful soul. We would like Asko to find a loving home again and never have to be so sad at the animal shelter again.

About Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause

What life with Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause looks like

Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause is a large senior labrador retriever dog waiting at 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt in Essen.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hund Asko sucht ein Zuhause and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
