Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 3 years

Mau is a female dog, approximately 24.04.2023, has been at the shelter since 20.08.2026. Mau has been with us for 29 days. Paten: Mau is looking for a home. The friends from Smeura (Romania) sent us a video from one of their kennels. The poor Mau was shown in the video. Fear was written in her eyes - she seemed to be really afraid of her kennel mates, ran away with her tail tucked in and tried to hide, but failed. We learned that Mau came to the shelter as a puppy and has not known anything else in her life. The move to our shelter was a "culture shock" for Mau at first, and the first days she was very afraid. Above all, going on a leash triggered panic. We are working continuously and slowly to bring her this concept closer. Currently, it is mainly door thresholds that raise her pulse and trigger a "turbo start". She has no problem being indoors. As we suspected, Mau is very tolerant with other dogs and has snuggled up to some of the other shelter residents in the basket after a few days. She is house trained and does not seem to have a pronounced hunting instinct. She is friendly to people in principle, but lets herself be stroked and just freezes. Currently, she does not seem to enjoy the loving attention yet. We are looking for patient, sensitive people who can give her security and help her build a healthy self-confidence. If you are interested in Mau, we look forward to your inquiry. Other medium-sized dogs looking for a home: Mau is looking for a home. We are looking for patient, sensitive people who can give her security and help her build a healthy self-confidence. Bailey is still new at the shelter. A description will follow soon. Edna is still new at the shelter. A description will follow soon. Quentin (born 2012, approximately 53 cm shoulder height) is still very anxious and reserved. He spent many years in a Romanian animal shelter in a kennel. For Quentin, a new life is beginning in his old age. However, he will still need some time to get used to it and really settle in here. Mia (born 2022, approximately 45 cm shoulder height) is an incredibly anxious female dog looking for a home with very patient, fear-experienced people with a secure property and a confident first dog. Gizi is looking for a loving home with a house and garden. It would be great if she could move in with her long-time companion, Gizi. Exa is sweet but shy. After 8 years in the shelter, she is looking for a quiet home with patience, heart and preferably a confident second dog. She is not a sports enthusiast.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with 4animals! e.V. Hundeauffangstation HASt early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hund Mau sucht ein Zuhause and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
