On November 4, 2017, Holly came to us at our area. After only 3 hours on the farm, the 14-year-old Border collie female dog was already fully integrated into our pack. She was welcomed with great curiosity and joy by the other dogs. Holly had a good life within a family. The circumstances changed so unpredictably that Holly had to be given to another home with great sadness. Holly was a very friendly and affectionate dog; she immediately won the hearts of our human family. It seemed to us as if Holly had been here forever. On July 17, 2018, Holly passed away at the age of 14 and a half. Holly was fit, and we never dreamed that she would die. On the morning of July 17, she fell without warning and convulsed. I immediately took her to the vet. Holly received an emergency medication for epileptic seizures and an infusion. She was breathing heavily, but after another seizure at the vet, she seemed to have recovered a little. So, we returned home with another dose of the emergency medication. The seizures came again, and I administered the medication. It did not help; the seizures were coming in shorter intervals. We could no longer help Holly. The vet administered a sedative to Holly at home. Holly was a special and affectionate dog. Her one and only passion was playing with a ball. Of course, she also took a ball with her to the rainbow land.

Am 04.11.2017 kam Holly zu uns auf den Tierlebenshof. Nach nur 3 Stunden auf dem Hof war die 14-jährige Bordercollie-Hündin bereits mitten drin in unserem Rudel. Sie wurde von den anderen Hunden mit viel Neugier und Freude empfangen. Holly hatte ein gutes Leben innerhalb einer Familie. Die Lebensumstände veränderten sich unvorhergesehen so sehr, dass die Menschen Holly schweren Herzens in ein anderes Zuhause geben mussten. Holly war ein sehr freundlicher und lieber Hund, uns Menschen hat sie gleich in’s Herz geschlossen. Uns kam es direkt so vor, als wenn Holly bereits ewig hier war. Am 17.07.2018 verstarb Holly im Alter von 14 1/2 Jahren. Holly war fit und wir hätten nicht im Traum daran gedacht, dass sie sterben könnte. Am Morgen des 17. Juli fiel sie ohne Vorwarnung um und krampfte. Sofort fuhr ich mit ihr zum Tierarzt. Holly bekam ein Notfallmedikament gegen epileptische Anfälle und eine Infusion. Sie hechelte stark, aber nach einem weiteren Anfall beim Tierarzt schien sie sich ein bißchen zu erholen. Wir fuhren also, ausgestattet mit einer weiteren Dosis des Notfallmedikaments nach Hause. Die Krämpfe kamen wieder, ich verabreichte ihr das Medikament. Es nützte nichts, die Anfälle kamen in immer kürzeren Abständen. Wir konnten Holly nicht mehr helfen. Die Tierärztin schläferte Holly hier zuhause ein. Holly war ein besonderer und liebenswürdiger Hund. Ihr ein und alles war das Ball spielen. Natürlich hat sie auch einen Ball mit ins Regenbogenland genommen.
