Hündin Sedi &#8211

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

I am female, microchipped, neutered, and born around 2017. I am approximately 55cm tall. I have been waiting for a new home since March 2019. My caretakers say about me: Sedi came to us with a dog friend from a seizure and is now looking for a new home. Sedi, like your friend, is an unblemished page, arriving here in a passable condition. With people she trusts, she savors the cuddles fully. On walks, she impulsively absorbs everything, she is brimming with initiative. Unfortunately, both have experienced nothing and learned nothing in their first phase of life, and so they are full of overflowing energy, and engaging with them keeps them occupied. Both must learn everything and behave like pubescent puppies. The advantage is that the initial shyness quickly fades away. Sedi gets along well with fellow animals and finds it great when play gets really intense. She lives in a smaller pack with us, which harmonizes wonderfully. She still cannot be left alone, is not yet reliably house-trained, and would be happy if her new family works on all of this together, ideally in a dog training class where there is also some wild play. We are sure that in a new home, she will eventually fully trust your human and become a obedient companion if one is patient during the initial phase. When dealing with children, parental caution is necessary. A house with a garden would be ideal, and a life as a second dog in a home with a social role model dog is certainly desirable. Who has the patience and understanding that Sedi needs to finally settle in the new home? After a difficult start in life, the temperamental and affectionate soul has finally earned it….

About Hündin Sedi &#8211

What life with Hündin Sedi &#8211 looks like

Hündin Sedi &#8211 is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Schkortitz in Grimma.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Hündin Sedi &#8211, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Hündin Sedi &#8211?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Schkortitz handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Hündin Sedi &#8211 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Hündin Sedi &#8211 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Schkortitz will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Hündin Sedi &#8211 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Hündin Sedi &#8211 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Schkortitz early rather than rehoming privately; they know Hündin Sedi &#8211 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
