adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now adopt this dog! Iggy has found a home! His story: Iggys start in life was anything but easy. Together with his siblings, he was – locked in a box – simply abandoned. Once again, we are shocked and very sad about such cruelty, but also full of determination, because we want Iggy to find a beautiful, safe forever home quickly. Currently, he is taking his first, tentative steps in a Romanian foster home – he is discovering, playing, and showing himself as a sweet, friendly creature. With great likelihood, Iggy is a Mudi-Mix. The Mudi is considered the "do-it-all" dog by shepherds and small farmers. He can independently guard livestock or reliably watch the home. The breed likely originated from a cross between Hungarian herding dogs and German shepherds. Mudis are known as confident, watchful dogs that are loyal and clingy. They require a lot of movement and also mental stimulation, because boredom can strongly affect their mental well-being. Even though Mudis are considered trainable and easy to train, it should be noted that Iggy still has puberty ahead. During this hormonal transition phase, forgetfulness and rebelliousness may occur. Then, patience and empathy are needed, because Iggys chaos in his head is normal and an important part of his development. After this phase ends, Iggy will be a confident companion. Is Iggy already your big star? How much would he love to start a new life soon, also by your side as a confident first dog, and show you what he is capable of. His luggage is already packed. Iggy can be adopted after a positive foster home experience. Of course, Iggy would also be overjoyed to be adopted by a foster home. A big thank you goes to Nadia. You gave Iggy a great name and thus the chance at a life in harmony and well-being. As of 30.11. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! Stand: 30.11.2025

About Iggy

What life with Iggy looks like

Iggy is a extra-large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Iggy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Iggy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Iggy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Iggy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Iggy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Iggy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Iggy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
