Igris

Male

Igris is a lively budgie cock full of energy who loves to be everywhere at once. Curious, he explores his surroundings, nimbly darts from perch to perch and is always on the lookout for new adventures. Igris is cheeky, brave and confident - a little feathered friend who knows exactly how to get attention! Whether busy on the go or happily singing and chirping: Igris brings a lot of life to everyday life. He is sociable, smart and adaptable, but also has his own head. The otherwise self-confident little fellow can react briefly to unfamiliar situations. However, with his curious nature and some time, he likes to get used to his surroundings. We wish Igris a loving home with suitable companions, where he can flaunt, sing and live out his adventurous spirit to his heart's content. Anyone looking for a lively and charming feathered roommate will definitely have fun with this little bundle of energy!

DE·Show original

About Igris

What life with Igris looks like

Igris is a small adult bird waiting at Tierheim beider Basel in Basel.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Igris, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Igris?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim beider Basel handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Igris on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Igris if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim beider Basel what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Igris already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim beider Basel directly what is included and what Igris still needs.
What happens if Igris isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim beider Basel early rather than rehoming privately; they know Igris and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
