Rici

Male · Young · 1 year

Rici came to our animal shelter together with his partner Kiki, as their owners had to move and could not or did not want to take the two with them. The handsome cockatiel has quickly settled in with us and will now spend his golden years at our animal shelter. Rici would greatly appreciate a sponsorship that allows him to have a nice and worry-free life with us. Leisibachstrasse 16037 Root041 450 00 Bank details animal shelter at the Ron Monday - Friday:

About Rici

What life with Rici looks like

Rici is a young adult bird waiting at Tierheim an der Ron.

Birds are long-lived, social, and noisy. The species and individual history matter enormously — ex-companion parrots can carry strong attachments and trauma. Ask the shelter about their daily routine, diet, and whether they'd do best alone or with a flockmate.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Paperwork, vet checks and transport rules differ by species and by country. Ask the shelter what is included and what you will need to arrange before you commit.

Frequently asked

Adopting Rici, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Rici?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim an der Ron handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Rici on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Rici if I live in another country?: Sometimes. Whether a bird can move between countries depends on the species and the rules in both countries, and some species need permits or have restrictions. Ask Tierheim an der Ron what paperwork and transport they require, and check the import rules of your country before you commit.
Is Rici already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: What a bird comes with (vet checks, vaccinations, identification, paperwork) varies by shelter and species. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask Tierheim an der Ron directly what is included and what Rici still needs.
What happens if Rici isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim an der Ron early rather than rehoming privately; they know Rici and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
