Ina

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

Ina, born 04/2024 and about 55 cm tall, was rescued as a puppy together with her siblings Jesse, Simona & Marco. Since then she has been waiting at the shelter with Alexandru – day after day, month after month. While her sister Simona approaches people more openly, Ina is the somewhat shyer one. A beautiful female dog with a gentle gaze that tells far more than she dares to show. She would so much like to trust, but she needs a moment longer. When you give her that moment, you can see how hard she tries. Ina is not a loud soul – she is a quiet, delicate dog who needs people who recognize exactly that. Update from visit in August 2026: Ina is still shy – but who could blame her? She has been at the shelter since she was a puppy and, like her siblings, is waiting to finally be seen! Ina allows herself to be touched and let Tanja stroke her without any problem. She is also very shy, but friendly. Ina so far knows only the shelter. Everything outside this world will be new to her: a home, walks, closeness, everyday life. But she has the heart and the gentleness to learn all of it – if she is given time and loving companionship. This pretty furry nose Ina should leave as soon as possible, so we are urgently looking for a loving foster home or a loving family where she can arrive, where the world can be discovered together with her and life outside the shelter can be explained to her. We so much wish that Ina will finally be seen. That someone recognizes how much beauty there is in her quiet manner. That she no longer remains the sister who waits in the shadows. A confident first-time dog would of course be wonderful, as it could be a great support for her in discovering the world! Perhaps this is exactly the moment when someone can change her life. Please contact us if you can offer Ina a loving home or have a loving foster place free for this pretty furry nose. Ina is neutered and will be vaccinated, microchipped and, after a positive pre-screening, placed with a protection contract. General note about our animals: Our dogs in Romania are visited regularly so that we can repeatedly reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us greatly to convey as accurate a picture as possible of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog may show itself differently in a new environment – with new people, new routines and new impressions. This is completely normal and part of every process of change. Many dogs open up even faster in a home and show sides that were not visible at all in the shelter. Our assessments are therefore based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in a new environment. They are meant to provide orientation and show how the dog presents itself in the shelter – and what potential lies within it. We are convinced: with patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

About Ina

What life with Ina looks like

Ina is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ina, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ina?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ina on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ina if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Ina already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ina isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ina and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
