adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Inara has found her home! Her story: Dachelfans take notice! Here comes the charming Inara, a lively wirehaired dachshund girl, in search of a loving home. Inara was found on the street and luckily discovered by our local animal rescuer. The little dachshund lady is approximately 4 years old and about 28 cm tall. Currently, she lives in a loving private foster home in Romania and waits there for her people, where she can find her final happiness. Inara is a true ray of sunshine! With her curious, open nature, she conquers hearts in a storm. She loves to explore the world and is always friendly – she is also absolutely compatible with other dogs. Of course, she is still curious and eager to learn. She will surely be house-trained and leash-friendly soon. She is very smart and has her own mind, like all dachshunds. Dachshunds are known to be smart, playful, lively, and independent. She may show a prey drive later on. Inara would greatly appreciate a garden where she can run around and even dig. The dachshund's favorite pastime is sniffing, so she should be allowed to do a lot of sniffing on walks and would surely enjoy tracking or mantrailing, which would keep her mentally stimulated. It would be great if she could attend positive dog training classes. We are searching for a loving home for the charming dachshund lady that will give her the time with patience and understanding to settle in and learn. Whoever gives Inara a dog bed will gain a loyal, uncomplicated companion for life, who enriches everyday life with her positive energy. Inara travels neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for fleas, and dewormed to her new home. She even has her pet ID and will be rehomed for an adoption fee of 500 Euros. A huge thank you to the Pfeifer family, who named Inara. As of: 26.01. Walks well on a leash.

Stand: 26.01.2025

About Inara

What life with Inara looks like

Inara is a small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Inara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Inara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Inara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Inara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Inara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Inara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Inara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
