Inara

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

PROFILE Age: born around May 2025. Gender: female. Neutered: no. Character: friendly, yet a bit uncertain. Size: still growing, becoming medium-sized. In the shelter since: October 2025. Relatives: brother Bosse Hello humans, I am Inara! Isn't that a wonderful name? Just the fact that I am important enough to a human to be given a name and thus meaning makes me hope... but also surprises me a little. After all, I haven't had many experiences with people so far. I was found with my brother and another female dog near the shelter. It seems someone sees something in us, even though we don't, like some other dogs here, run joyfully towards you. I remember the moment when we were found. The people said something I didn't understand - and then we were here. Since then, everything has been different. No sun in the fur, no grass under the paws, just cold floor and this uncertainty. Here at the shelter we observe a lot and prefer to sit in our hut. I try to be strong. For my brother. When he trembles, I lean against him. Pretend to be brave - I can do that very well. But when the wind whistles through the bars and I hear the barking of the others, fear creeps into my heart. The people here approach us and in these moments I would like to take a step forward. But I stay still for a moment. When we are then petted, the tension slowly falls from me and I begin to understand how nice it is to be touched. Despite the uncertainty, we do not react angrily or rejecting. We sense that the people want only good for us. Deep inside me, a hope glimmers that somewhere out there there is someone who sees me, not just my appearance, but my heart. I wish for a person who takes me by the paw and shows me how beautiful the world can be. I am still very young and ready to learn, the one who does not give up on me if I hesitate at first. I dream of a place on the sofa, of warmth, of belonging. Maybe... maybe you're dreaming of me too? If you are interested in Inara, please fill out our interest form () or send us an email to or a message via Facebook. Inara is ready for adoption and can travel to Germany with the next transport. Our dogs travel legally with Traces. Traces refers to the database system used to monitor all animal traffic within the EU. The dogs travel neutered (if old enough), vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed and have an EU passport. Furthermore, a rapid test for the following Mediterranean diseases is carried out for dogs over 12 months before travel arrangements: Borreliosis, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichiosis, Dirofilariasis and leishmaniasis. Bianca S. has taken on the sponsorship for Inara and thus ensures a filled bowl. Many thanks on behalf of the dogs!

Steckbrief Alter: ca. Mai 2025 geboren. Geschlecht: weiblich.

About Inara

What life with Inara looks like

Inara is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Seelen für Seelchen e.V. in Alfter.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Inara, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Inara?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Seelen für Seelchen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Inara on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Inara if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Seelen für Seelchen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Inara already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Inara isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Seelen für Seelchen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Inara and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
