Indira

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 1 year

Indira (born 01/2025) is about 58 cm tall and consistently shows herself to be loving, friendly, affectionate, agile and cuddly at the shelter. She actively seeks closeness, remaining gentle and balanced. She is described as intelligent, learns quickly and shows a beautiful willingness to embrace new experiences. We are convinced that she would be very happy to attend a dog school and can flourish there. She is very well socially compatible with other dogs. She moves confidently in the group, shows a calm, stable social behavior and clearly benefits from dog company. Indira is not familiar with life in a house yet, but we are sure she will learn and enjoy it quickly. She brings the right mix of curiosity, gentleness and willingness to learn to fit in well. We are looking for a foster home or a home for Indira where she can arrive in peace. Due to her size, a home in a more rural area would probably be more suitable - an environment with a bit more space, clear structures and a quiet daily routine would help her very much. Indira would certainly be very happy with a friendly first dog - but it is not a must. Indira is spayed and will be vaccinated, chipped and rehomed with a protection contract after a positive pre-check. General note on our protégés: Our dogs in Romania are regularly visited so we can reassess their behavior and development. These personal impressions help us very much to convey a good picture of each individual dog. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that a dog in a new environment - with new people, new routines and new impressions - can also show itself differently. This is quite normal and is part of any change process. Many dogs open up faster at home and show sides that were not visible at the shelter. Our assessments are based on current observations, but are not a guarantee for every behavior in the new environment. They should provide guidance and show how the dog presents itself at the shelter - and what potential is in him. We are convinced: With patience, understanding and a loving environment, every dog can find its way and develop positively.

Indira (geb.

About Indira

What life with Indira looks like

Indira is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Vierbeiner in Not e.V. in Germany.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Indira, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Indira?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Vierbeiner in Not e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Indira on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Indira if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Vierbeiner in Not e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Indira already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Indira isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Vierbeiner in Not e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Indira and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
