The only 100 cm "large" pony wallach Indian was rescued by animal rescuer Susanne Rieder in 2008 in Bavaria, together with the sadly deceased pony mare Summer, in a very poor condition from a slaughterer. She lovingly fattened up the two ponies, but unfortunately fell ill and had to urgently find a good place for Indy and Summer. A "Tierhospiz" initially took the two in, but after a short time, there was a threat to kill the ponies for unexplainable reasons. Fortunately, Angel for Animals could quickly take the two after Susi's plea and initially place them in the then bayrische foster home Monheim. In 2013, Susi could take the two ponies back in, but since she still offers a home to two other horses and three dogs from animal protection, she cannot cover all the costs for the animals from her job. Therefore, Angel for Animals continued to support Indian and Summer. Summer sadly had to be put to sleep in February 2018 despite all dietary and hoof orthopedic efforts due to an incurable hoof disease. Indy enjoys his life at the age of now 30 years together with his Haflinger friend Nathan. He met Nathan at his home in Schweinfurt. So, Indy came to terms with Summer's death luckily.

Der nur 100 cm „große“ Ponywallach Indian wurde 2008 in Bayern zusammen mit der leider schon verstorbenen Ponystute Summer in ganz schlechtem Zustand beim Schlachter von Tierschützerin Susanne Rieder gerettet. Sie päppelte die beiden Ponys liebevoll auf, erkrankte aber leider und musste dringend einen guten Platz für Indy und Summer finden. Ein „Tierhospiz“ nahm die beiden zunächst auf, aber nach kurzer Zeit drohte man die Tötung der Ponys an, aus nicht nachvollziehbaren Gründen. Glücklicherweise konnte Schutzengel für Tiere die beiden nach dem Hilferuf von Susi schnellstens dort wegholen und zunächst in der damaligen bayrischen Pflegestelle Monheim unterbringen. 2013 konnte Susi die beiden Ponys wieder zu sich nehmen, da sie aber noch zwei weiteren Pferden und drei Hunden aus dem Tierschutz ein Zuhause bietet, konnte sie von ihrem Job nicht alle Kosten für die Tiere bestreiten. Deshalb unterstützte Schutzengel für Tiere Indian und Summer weiter. Summer musste leider trotz aller diätischen und huforthopädischen Bemühungen im Februar 2018 wegen unheilbarer Hufrehe eingeschläfert werden. Indy genießt sein Leben im nun hohen Alter von nun 30 Jahren zusammen mit seinem Haflingerfreund Nathan. Den lernte er in seinem Zuhause bei Schweinfurt kennen. So kam Indy über Summers Tod zum Glück gut hinweg.
