adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Ingela can stay forever in your foster home! Her story. Ingela will be called Omi there. She loves people, she comes for petting, but she loves treats even more. Omi is completely uncomplicated; she needs very little to be happy. She is completely relaxed about everything, whether it's strangers, other dogs, or car rides. She just lies down relaxed and never gets stressed. Ingela doesn't need long walks; she goes along calmly on the leash, she never pulls in any situation. Omi likes to avoid the hustle and bustle and prefers her peace. Ingela is currently recovering from her heartworm therapy, but she has handled it well thanks to her patient foster parent. Now, Omi's new life can finally begin, and the best place for her is her forever home. Ingela is approximately 10 years old and about 60 cm tall. She has soft black fur and her snout is already gray, just as befits an old lady. Of course, we are aware that Ingela is not the youngest anymore. But she does not want to be considered old iron just yet. Surely, she will thrive in a loving family and make up for what she may have missed in her previous life. Ingela is a female dog that can be spoiled with a clear conscience and given a few more good years. She needs people who take her as she is, give her a cozy, warm spot, and simply love her. A quiet household without small children, with people who have no expectations of her. Would you like to give the pretty and affectionate old lady a comfortable old age? Then contact us. Ingela comes neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated with an EU pet passport to her new home. She will be placed after a positive home check. Many thanks, dear Birgit Z. You have given our friendly Ingela a name and thus a personal identity. Date: 21.08.

Stand: 21.08.2024

About Ingela

What life with Ingela looks like

Ingela is a extra-large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Ingela, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Ingela?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Ingela on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Ingela if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Ingela already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Ingela isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Ingela and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
